The complete Château Mouton Rothschild collection - from 1911

Our famous collection of bottles from the renowned Château Mouton Rothschild is quite possibly unique, and is on display near the entrance to the Old Swiss House: it starts with the oldest bottle of this provenance in our possession – 1867 – and there is an uninterrupted run from 1911 to the present day.

The art of wine

Since 1945, Mouton Rothschild has been inviting a different artist each year to design a label. This has included such luminaries as Picasso, Jean Cocteau, Salvador Dali, Marc Chagall, Andy Warhol, as well as our very own son of Lucerne, Hans Erni.

Madame Philippine de Rothschild-Sereys honoured the achievements of her father on a 1987 Hans Erni label with the following dedication: “A mon père, le Baron Philippe de Rothschild, rénovateur de Mouton, je dédie ce millésime de sa 65ème et dernière vendange – Mouton ne change” [To my father, Baron Philippe de Rothschild, reviver of Mouton, I dedicate this vintage, the product of his 65th and final harvest – Mouton shall not change].
